Status & Salary: Non-Exempt, Part-Time. (15-20 hrs/week)
Summary of Role
The Engineering Intern supports the technical staff in all areas of electrical engineering. The Electrical Engineering Intern supports the entire process from design and material identification to analysis, test and integration, and delivery of units produced. Integral to this position, the Intern will collaborate with other technical and managerial members, as well as industry partners and suppliers.
Essential Duties for the Engineering Intern
1. Engineering Support: Provide support to the engineering team with technical items. Tasks include (but are not limited to) design, documentation, analysis, integration, and testing of hardware items.
2. Engineering Tools: Work within engineering design and analysis tools (CAD, circuit modeling)
3. Testing and Test Equipment: Support any required electrical testing, following any relevant procedures and collecting detailed data. Help coordinate any test equipment needed for hardware testing. Evaluate additional tools as needed. Familiarity with a test lab environment and electrical test equipment is important.
4. Scheduling: Understand and work to project schedules, including daily and weekly updates.
5. Budget/Schedule Management: Support the team in tracking expenses, managing and tracking parts purchase orders, and ensure the project stays within budget and on schedule.
6. Documentation: Handle company or project paperwork and documentation, including technical and non-technical. Produce technical summaries and presentations describing design concepts, test results, etc.
7. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues during the engineering and production process.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years (min) completed toward an Electrical Engineering Degree (or related field). Experience in a
technical development/manufacturing environment is a plus. - Experience in an office/team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with engineering software applications.
